On Sunday August 27th members of Colonials Community Volunteer Corps, Sponsored by Colonial Youth and Family Services helped at the annual Blue Claw Crab Festival, Sponsored by the Mastic Beach Property Owners Association. Volunteer members worked hard all day at this event.

Colonial Volunteers Help at 5K Run

Early in the morning on Saturday, September 8th, members of Colonials Community Volunteer Corps, sponsored by Colonial Youth and Family Services, helped at a 5K Run sponsored by the Mastic, Moriches, Shirley Community Library.

Volunteers started by setting up three water tables. Then as runners passed by, volunteers handed them cups of refreshing water. After the last runner had passed, the volunteers cleaned up the discarded cups.

Colonial’s Holiday Assistance Program

With the Holiday Season approaching, Colonial Youth and Family Services have started our annual Holiday Assistance Program. We are once again turning to our generous community to help contribute to our efforts. For over four decades, Colonial has been able to provide bountiful holiday baskets for families who find themselves in need during the holidays. Each year we are able to service approximately 225 families due to the kindness and generosity of individuals and businesses in our community. Continue reading »

 

A Wonderful Day at the 38th Annual Golf Outing

On Tuesday June 27, 2017, Colonial Youth and Family Services hosted their 38th annual golf outing. This year the not-for-profit community agency honored Town of Brookhaven Supervisor, Ed Romaine for all his support through his many years as an elected official. The day was filled with great weather, golf, raffles, food, contests, auction items, and very generous supporters of Colonial. A good time was had by all and Colonial would like to thank everyone who came out or supported the event in any way. Monies raised that day assist with much needed programs in our community. We thank you for contributing to another successful outing. See you all next year!

Colonial Volunteers Help at Walk to Fight Breast Cancer

Early on the morning of Saturday, June 10th, members of Colonial’s Community Volunteer Corps, sponsored by Colonial Youth and Family Services, helped at the Long Island Walk to Fight Breast Cancer. Volunteer members and staff arrived at 5:30am at Smith Point Beach to help set up for the walk.

Colonial’s Volunteers Plant a Flower Garden

Volunteers from Colonial’s Community Volunteer Corps, sponsored by Colonial Youth and Family Services, started the Community Gardens Project on Friday June 2nd with flowers donated by the Towns Ecology Center. Volunteers and staff planted an assortment of beautiful flowers at the Towns Senior Nutrition Center. Volunteer members will water and maintain these sites over the summer and through the fall.
