Colonial Volunteers Help at 5K Run

Early in the morning on Saturday, September 8th, members of Colonials Community Volunteer Corps, sponsored by Colonial Youth and Family Services, helped at a 5K Run sponsored by the Mastic, Moriches, Shirley Community Library.

Volunteers started by setting up three water tables. Then as runners passed by, volunteers handed them cups of refreshing water. After the last runner had passed, the volunteers cleaned up the discarded cups.

Staff from the library thanked the volunteers for their help. The volunteer corps looks forward to helping with this event again next year.

If you are a student presently in grade 6 through 12 in the William Floyd School District and would like to make your community a better place call 631-281-4461 and ask for Ray or Sam to get registration information.

If you would like to make a monetary contribution to support this project all donations are greatly appreciated.
