Colonial’s Volunteers Plant a Flower Garden

Volunteers from Colonial’s Community Volunteer Corps, sponsored by Colonial Youth and Family Services, started the Community Gardens Project on Friday June 2nd with flowers donated by the Towns Ecology Center. Volunteers and staff planted an assortment of beautiful flowers at the Towns Senior Nutrition Center. Volunteer members will water and maintain these sites over the summer and through the fall.

This is a component of a comprehensive plan by volunteers to clean up and beautify our community. In addition to the Community Gardens volunteers will be conducting community clean-ups as well as removing graffiti vandalism from local municipal property.

If you are a student presently in grade 6 through 12 in the William Floyd School District and would like to make your community a better place call 631-281-4461 and ask for Ray or Sam to get registration information.

If you would like to make a monetary contribution to support this project all donations are greatly appreciated.
